Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks an Instructional Aide to support students in Grades K-12 within our Special Education team. You will help implement IEPs, provide individualized instruction, supervise, and guide students in classroom and community settings.

You will collaborate with teachers to tailor instruction, monitor progress, and support essential skills across academic and social domains. Join a mission-driven environment focused on growth and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; basic skills test completed.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• CA driver’s license required or ability to obtain.
• Crisis management training certification required or obtainable.
• Paraprofessional/teaching credential preferred.
• Experience in special education or behavioral health settings preferred.
• Experience with disabilities incl. autism and EBD.
• Ability to drive company van with students.
• Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office and instructional tech.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
• Implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions onsite and in community settings.
• Instruct and monitor students during lessons with fidelity of instruction.
• Track progress and communicate with teachers on successes and needs.
• Manage student behavior and apply consistent disciplinary measures.
• Support students in developing community, vocational, leisure, and social skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; report observations and recommendations.
• Prepare behavioral reports and daily activity logs.
• Communicate with students, families, and staff about needs and achievements.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records.
• Participate in accreditation activities and site performance tasks.
• Attend school-wide and advisory meetings to support collaboration.
• Respond to feedback and pursue professional growth.
• Perform additional duties to support student success.
