Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking an Instructional Aide to join our Special Education team. The role focuses on providing personalized support to students in Grades K-12, both in the classroom and in community settings, aligned with each student’s IEP.

You will collaborate with teachers, implement individualized instruction and behavioral strategies, and track progress to help students achieve their goals while maintaining confidentiality and teamwork with staff and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; basic skills tested.
• Associate degree or higher in education preferred.
• CA driver’s license required or ability to obtain.
• Crisis management training certification preferred.
• Paraprofessional/teacher assistant credential preferred.
• Experience with special education and behavioral health settings.
• Comfort with transportation for students in a company van.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to foster a supportive learning environment.
• Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
• Monitor student progress and communicate findings to teachers.
• Assist with implementing IEP goals for each student.
• Support student behavior management and safety in classrooms.
• Document student behaviors and performance accurately and timely.
• Prepare behavioral reports and activity logs for staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
• Participate in accreditation and school-wide meetings.
