Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, a division of ChanceLight, is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students in grades K-12 within its Special Education program. You’ll assist with IEPs, tailor instruction, and collaborate with teachers to foster student growth in a compassionate, outcomes-driven environment.

Responsibilities include in-class support, behavior management, progress monitoring, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with basic skills test.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• Valid CA driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
• Certification in crisis management training required.
• Paraprofessional/teaching assistant credential preferred.
• Experience with instruction/support for children in special education/behavioral health settings.
• Comfortable driving in company van with students.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
• Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
• Monitor and track student progress toward goals and communicate with teachers.
• Manage student behavior using school policies with teachers.
• Mentor students facing academic challenges and help develop essential skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; provide observations and recommendations.
