Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs in California seeks an Instructional Aide to support students in Grades K-12 within our Special Education team. You will collaborate with classroom educators, help implement each student’s IEP, and tailor instruction to individual learning needs in classroom and community settings.

Patience, empathy, and strong communication are essential as you track progress, document outcomes, and participate in school initiatives to empower students toward independence

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; basic skills tested.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• CA driver’s license or ability to obtain.
• Crisis management training certification or ability to obtain.
• Paraprofessional/teaching assistant credential preferred.
• Experience supporting children, especially in special education or behavioral health.
• Experience with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and EBD.
• Ability to drive with students in a company van.
• Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and instructional technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized support and supervision in classroom and community settings.
• Assist implementing IEPs and tailor instruction to individual goals.
• Monitor student progress and communicate with teachers.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and documentation.
• Document behaviors and prepare reports for staff and families.
• Collaborate with teachers and families to support student success.
