YES Prep in Houston, Texas is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant for a 10-month role starting the 26-27 school year. The position offers hourly compensation between $15.63 and $19.43, with benefits aligned to district standards.

You will assist Special Education and General Education teachers, support student learning, monitor progress, and provide one-to-one support as needed, while maintaining strong data and collaboration with the team.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 30 semester hours of college or post-secondary education credit.
• Current Educational Aide certification or willingness to acquire it from TEA.
• Interest in 1-on-1 support for a student with significant needs.
• Ability to assist students with self-help, mobility, academic and behavioral skills.
• Commitment to YES Prep Mission and core values.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated teamwork and willingness to learn and grow.

Aufgaben

• Assist Special Education and General Education teachers with supervision of students in all instructional settings.
• Model and reinforce positive behaviors and behavior management techniques.
• Maintain data aligned with IEP goals and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Support lesson planning and reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist students with self-help and academic skills.
• Provide one-to-one full-time support for a student with significant needs.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and work.
• Help implement accommodations and/or modifications.
• Adapt activities and materials to support objectives.
• Monitor students during transitions and provide personal care as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
