Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, Texas is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support Special Education and General Education teachers across instructional settings. The role emphasizes supervision, behavior management, and adapting lessons to meet individual student needs.

You will assist with data collection, test administration, and implementing accommodations, while fostering a compassionate, results-oriented classroom environment. This is a 10-month, hourly position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Interest in working one-on-one with a student with significant needs.
• Ability to assist students with self-help, mobility, academic, and behavioral skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education and General Education teachers with supervision of students in all instructional settings.
• Model and reinforce positive behaviors to support behavior management.
• Maintain data aligned to IEP goals and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs and support learning concepts.
• Help with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
