Job summary

YES Prep is hiring a Special Education Teaching Assistant in Houston, TX. This 10-month non-exempt position reports to the Special Education Manager and starts the 26-27 school year with an hourly wage of $15.63–$19.43.

The role includes supporting students in all instructional settings, managing behavior, and assisting with tests and accommodations. Responsibilities include one-on-one support, data tracking, adapting lessons, and collaboration with Special Education and General Education

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of 30 semester hours college credit.
Current Educational Aide certification or willingness to obtain from TEA.
Interest in working one-on-one with a student with significant needs.
Ability to physically assist students with self-help, mobility, academic, and behavioral skills.

Responsibilities

Assist Special Education and General Education teachers with supervision of students in all instructional settings.
Model and reinforce positive behavior using behavior management techniques.
Maintain data as identified by teacher goals and plans.
Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs.
Support teachers with lesson plans and reinforce concepts.
Assist students with self-help and academic skills.
Provide one-to-one full-time support for a student with significant needs.
