Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional Educator to support students with disabilities within the classroom and assist teachers with IEP goals and objectives. The role includes adapting activities, reinforcing learning, and providing a safe, inclusive learning environment under supervision.

Candidates should hold, or be eligible for, the PSC Paraprofessional certification, or meet alternative PSC-approved criteria (60 sem hours/90 quarter hours).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required plus Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro, or 60 sem hours/90 quarter hours from PSC-approved college.
• PSC credentialing pathway or eligibility required for Paraprofessional Educator licensure.
• Experience in a licensed child care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities and materials to reinforce IEP goals and ensure inclusion for all students.
• Provide first aid and health assistance as directed by a health care professional.
• Assist with tests, homework, and makeup work to support teachers.
• Support medically fragile or physically disabled students with daily needs.
• Monitor student behavior and safety during class and activities.
• Record keeping and data collection to support instructional progress.
• Deliver instruction to individuals or small groups under supervision.
• Contribute to crisis intervention and safety procedures.
