Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Spacesuit Project Engineer to join our team and support NASA’s space exploration initiatives. You will lead EVA spacesuit design testing, instrumentation planning, and data acquisition integration while coordinating with NASA facilities to ensure readiness and compliance.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, documentation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with experts in mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• This position typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with related experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical system design, drawings, material selection, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform project and test engineering for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification.
• Develop documentation for tests including test plans, hazard analyses, procedures, and readiness reviews.
• Design tests and test rigs, identifying instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Coordinate test activities with NASA test facilities.
• Set up and execute tests and prepare reports documenting results.
• Plan hardware troubleshooting to investigate failures in spacesuit hardware or test support equipment.
