Amentum seeks an IVA Spacesuit Project Engineer to join our team in supporting NASA and Oceaneering. The role focuses on development, integration, testing, procurement, and sustainment of Intravehicular Activity spacesuit systems for human-rated spaceflight programs.

You will coordinate across engineering disciplines, manufacturing, suppliers, test, logistics, and program management to ensure successful delivery of mission-critical hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Experience supporting hardware development and engineering integration.
• Knowledge of engineering documentation, requirements management, and configuration management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic development environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the technical execution of IVA spacesuit hardware throughout the product lifecycle (design, fabrication, integration, qualification, certification, and maintenance).
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, electrical, thermal, materials, manufacturing, quality, safety, and test teams.
• Develop and maintain TPS, work packages, engineering task plans, schedules, and project documentation.
• Support procurement by creating technical specs, evaluating suppliers, and tracking long-lead hardware.
• Coordinate engineering change implementation and hardware release activities.
• Support qualification, acceptance, and environmental testing of IVA spacesuit systems.
• Lead troubleshooting during development, manufacturing, testing, and integration.
• Coordinate logistics including hardware tracking, inventory, shipping, and flight hardware accountability.
• Support risk identification, issue resolution, and corrective action implementation.
• Prepare technical presentations and status reports for leadership and customers.
• Participate in design reviews, IPT meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
