Job summary

Mclaurin Aerospace in Houston, TX, seeks a Spacesuit Project Engineer to join NASA's JETS II program at Johnson Space Center. You will lead project and test engineering for EVA spacesuit design, development, and certification, and develop essential documentation, test procedures, and data acquisition plans.

The role requires coordinating across technical disciplines, strong communication, and experience with mechanical and electrical system testing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design, testing and drawings.

Responsibilities

Perform project and test engineering for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test and certification.
Develop test plans, hazard analyses, test procedures and readiness documentation.
Design tests and test rigs, identifying instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
Coordinate test activities with NASA test facilities.
Set up and execute tests and prepare summary reports documenting results.
Plan hardware troubleshooting and analyze mechanical/electrical failures in spacesuit hardware.
