Job summary

Barrios Technology in Houston, TX, is seeking a Spacesuit Project Engineer to join our NASA-focused team. You will perform project and test engineering across EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification, coordinating with NASA facilities and vendors.

You will design tests, develop test documentation, and analyze data to drive reliable space suit systems while maintaining safety and quality standards. A U.S. citizen with engineering credentials is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
  • Knowledge of mechanical/electrical system design, drawings, materials, and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project and test engineering for EVA spacesuit design and certification.
  • Develop documentation for tests: test plans, hazard analyses, procedures, and readiness reviews.
  • Design tests and rigs, identify instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Coordinate test activities with NASA facilities.
  • Set up tests and prepare summaries of results.
  • Troubleshoot hardware to diagnose mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Apply engineering techniques to analyze problems and perform tasks per guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required.
