Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a team focused on space exploration and NASA collaboration. You will design, test, and implement mechanical systems for thermal vacuum environments, while coordinating with engineers and technicians across multiple reviews.

The role emphasizes drawing production to JPR 8500 standards, procurement support, and overseeing installation activities in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Ability to visualize complex mechanical systems and solve problems as a team.
• Coordinate in a team environment to meet milestones and design reviews.
• Maintain configuration control across project phases.
• Interpret and modify Facility P&ID drawings.
• Experience with MS Office, MS Project, and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements from customers and develop design solutions.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and analyze technical products and systems.
• Perform engineering designs and evaluations for thermal vacuum space simulation testing.
• Produce engineering drawings conforming to JPR 8500 and other standards.
• Coordinate and lead mechanical engineers, stress engineers, and drawing checkers.
• Prepare specifications, statements of work, and procurement estimates.
• Submit and track procurement, inspection, fabrication, and installation for test chambers.
• Oversee technicians during installation or fabrication of engineering products.
