Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Software Development Engineer III for ECLSS and Crew Systems in a senior role based in Denver, CO. You will design, develop, validate and verify flight software for environmental control and life support on the lunar lander, working with a cross-functional team.

You will lead software development in embedded real-time environments, ensuring DO-178C/NPR 7150.2 compliance and integration with hardware interfaces, and collaborating on autonomy simulation environments.

Qualifications

Minimum of BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in software development, verification, and validation.
Experience with real-time systems and embedded software.
Domain knowledge of ECLSS systems or Crew Systems autonomy applications.
Detailed knowledge of DO-178C and/or NASA NPR 7150.2.

Responsibilities

Own the development and qualification of software applications for environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS).
Own formal validation and verification of ECLSS software applications.
Support ECLSS model maturity, qualification, validation efforts with the ECLS subsystem team.
Support ECLSS component testing as the flight software representative including hardware/software integration and ensuring tests meet flight software requirements.
Support development and verification of other various crew systems on the human rated Lunar Lander.
Maintain requirements, support architecture and interface definition for ECLSS or Crew Systems software components.
