Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL, seeks an experienced software engineer to lead development and verification of environmental control and life support systems for the crewed Lunar Lander. You will own validation, integrate with hardware, and support crew system software across the vehicle architecture.

The role emphasizes real-time embedded software, C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python, with autonomy and flight software experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in software development, verification, and validation.
• Software development skills in C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python.
• Experience with real-time systems and embedded software.
• Experience with autonomy or controls flight software applications.
• Self-starting who thrives in a fast-paced new product development environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the development and qualification of software applications for environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS).
• Own formal validation and verification of ECLSS software applications.
• Support ECLSS model maturity, qualification, validation efforts with the ECLS subsystem team.
• Support ECLSS component testing as the flight software representative including hardware/software integration and ensuring tests meet flight software requirements.
• Support development and verification of other various crew systems on the human rated Lunar Lander.
• Maintain requirements, support architecture and interface definition for ECLSS or Crew Systems software components.
• Support internal or customer design review.
