Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to lead design, analysis, and integration of structural and mechanical systems for our spaceflight hardware. You will apply Creo modeling and FEA tools to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

You will work on rapid development programs with a collaborative team, ensuring quality and safety across the product lifecycle, from concept to test and operation.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
  • 5+ years producing aerospace or launch-vehicle mechanical design experience.
  • Strong 3D modeling, integration, and GD&T know-how.
  • Familiar with fabrication, assembly, and quality controls related to tubes, piping, or machined parts.
  • Ability to work independently on rapid development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, modify, analyze, and repair structural and mechanical systems hardware.
  • Support integration activities with focus on system compatibility.
  • Utilize Creo for detailed design and ANSYS for stress/FEA analyses.
  • Release engineering artifacts across product lifecycle for fabrication, assembly, verification, and operations.
  • Develop operating procedures, troubleshoot, and provide technical guidance.
  • Evaluate customer designs for feasibility, cost, and maintainability.
  • Specify components and modifications to meet performance specs.
  • Investigate failures and advise maintenance teams.
