Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state seeks a fluids systems engineer to design helium subsystems for the Transfer Stage Vehicle, sizing components and ensuring structural integrity under pressure, vibration, and thermal loads.

You will work under a senior engineer in the Gas and Thrusters (G&T) team, creating Creo CAD models and AutoCAD P&IDs, conducting trade studies, and coordinating with suppliers and internal groups to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience with 3D CAD (Creo preferred).
  • 2+ years designing aerospace fluid/mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of gas systems and ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
  • Experience with flow, pressure, structural and thermal analysis of fluid systems.

Responsibilities

  • Fluids sub-assembly design and development, CAD parts and assemblies (Creo preferred).
  • Analyze components for fluid, thermal, and structural performance.
  • Interpreting and generating P&IDs using AutoCAD.
  • Create specifications for fluid/gas components (valves, manifolds, regulators).
  • Develop and maintain interface definitions between fluid systems and subsystems.
  • Perform trade studies and analyze test data.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams for procurement and fabrication.
