Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle area is seeking a Fluid Systems Engineer II to design, analyze, and integrate fluid subsystems for New Glenn hardware. You will own parts of the design cycle, coordinate with suppliers, and contribute to safe, reliable spaceflight hardware.

The role requires a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 3+ years in aerospace fluid systems, and hands-on experience with valves, regulators, fittings, and 3D CAD (Creo/Windchill).

Qualifications

  • BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 3+ years in detail design / development of aerospace fluid systems.
  • Experience leading at least 1 multi-person development project.
  • Knowledge of valves, regulators, and fittings.
  • Experience with fabrication, integration, and quality control of tubes/piping.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the complete design cycle of fluid subsystems, including modeling and test support.
  • Triage production stoppages, perform root-cause analysis, and disposition non-conforming hardware.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements, dependencies and schedules.
  • Lead team-based scope estimation for full lifecycle fluids hardware development.
  • Manage project schedule, resources and cost; report risks and recovery plans to management.
  • Oversee fluid component testing, data reduction and analysis.
  • Create and modify drawings, specifications and documentation.
