Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering intent into scalable manufacturing steps for spacecraft structures and mechanisms. You will be embedded on the manufacturing floor, supporting structure subassembly and final integration, and you will develop and qualify new processes and technology to improve manufacturability.

The role requires DFMA leadership, rigorous process validation, and cross‑functional collaboration with design, test, and operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0-3 years → Level 1 Manufacturing Engineer; 3+ years → Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer; 5+ years → Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer; 8+ years → Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
• 1+ years of experience creating English-language work instructions.
• Must be available to work A-Shift (M-TH, 5:00AM-3:30PM) with flexibility to adjust shift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering definitions into manufacturing work instructions for structure and mechanisms.
• Support manufacturing floor on structure subassembly and final assembly, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and testing.
• Drive DFMA across the structural and mechanisms product life cycle to improve assembly efficiency and hardware quality.
• Conduct FMEA studies focusing on mechanical deployment mechanisms and structural interfaces.
