Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, Alabama, seeks a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering intent into scalable hardware for the Blue Ring spacecraft. You will embed on the manufacturing floor, supporting structure and mechanism subassemblies, final assembly, and testing with a strong emphasis on DFMA and quality.

The role requires collaboration across design, test, manufacturing, and operations, development of precise work instructions, and adherence to AS9100/ISO 9001 quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 1+ year of experience creating English-language work instructions.
• Willingness to work A-Shift (M–TH, 5:00AM–3:30PM) with flexibility to adjust shift.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional structural and mechanical hardware for the Blue Ring spacecraft.
• Support the manufacturing floor in structure subassembly and final assembly, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and testing.
• Support spacecraft mechanisms subassembly and final integration, including deployable booms and ROSAs, with precision alignment and verification.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions for receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, integration, test, and refurbishment.
• Disposition and investigate root causes of structural and mechanical discrepancies; implement preventative actions.
• Create in-build redlines and recommend engineering changes to improve manufacturability.
