Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering intent into scalable factory processes on the Blue Ring program. You will work on structure subassembly and final assembly, while partnering with design, test, and operations to ensure build quality and manufacturability.

This hands-on role requires DFMA, GD&T, and tooling development on the manufacturing floor, with opportunities to advance from Level 1 to Level 3 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 1+ years of experience creating English-language work instructions.
• 0–3 years → Level 1 Manufacturing Engineer; 3+ years → Level 2; 5+ → Level 3; 8+ → Senior Manufacturing Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent into functional hardware on the manufacturing floor.
• Support structure subassembly and final assembly per engineering requirements.
• Perform GD&T interpretation and validation for manufacturing work.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions for receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, and test.
• Drive DFMA across the product lifecycle to improve manufacturability.
