Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II for the Flight Software team in El Segundo, CA.

You will determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and build reliable software from requirements through flight operations, focusing on embedded C++ across bare metal, RTOS, and Linux environments. The role emphasizes end-to-end software development, verification and validation, and collaboration with spaceflight systems engineers to ensure mission success and safety-critical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in safety-critical software.
• 3+ years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and embedded software concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule across the full mission lifecycle.
• Own all aspects of software development: design, testing, integration, and verification.
• Scope projects from requirements capture to initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Write quality bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based embedded software for processors in C++.
• Build reliable software systems with emphasis on test, verification, and flight operations support.
