Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a Flight Software Engineer II - Embedded Linux to define how our spacecraft behaves in orbit and build reliable software for flight operations.

You will develop bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded software in C++ across requirements, design, testing, and flight support. You'll work with a multidisciplinary team with aerospace, software, and hardware specialists, contributing to end-to-end mission software, V&V, and on-orbit reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and safety-critical software experience.
• 3+ years developing spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Strong C++ knowledge and embedded Linux experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop flight software for spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software in C++.
• Own software development from design through testing and integration.
• Perform requirements capture and design trades for open-ended problems.
• Ensure quality and performance via software verification and validation (V&V).
• Collaborate effectively with team members.
