Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team to shape how our spacecraft behaves in orbit and to build reliable software from requirements through flight operations.

You will write firmware in C++ for bare metal, RTOS, or Linux, own design and verification, and collaborate across teams. A BS in a technical field and 3+ years in safety-critical or aerospace software are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (computer science, engineering, or equivalent).
• 3+ years of experience in spacecraft or safety-critical software development.
• Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Proficiency with C++ and strong language fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft hardware and subsystems.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to integration.
• Capture requirements and perform initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable and available software systems.
• Verify and validate software through tests and flight operations support.
