Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II for the Flight Software team. You will determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and build reliable software from requirements through testing and flight support.

You will write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++, own all phases of software development, and ensure high reliability for mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent in safety-critical software.
• 3+ years of experience developing spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware/software systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft and subsystems through the mission.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to integration.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and early design trades.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable software systems and ensure quality via V&V.
