Varda Space Industries, based in El Segundo, CA, seeks an Embedded Software Engineer II for the Flight Software team to determine how our spacecraft behaves and build reliable software from requirements through flight operations.

The role delivers firmware for the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule, owning design, testing, and integration, and driving system quality with V&V; strong C++ and RTOS/Linux skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
• 3+ years in safety-critical real-time software for spacecraft or similar domains.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and modern software practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware for spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Own software development from design to integration and testing.
• Apply V&V techniques to ensure software quality and performance.
• Write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based code for embedded processors.
