Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team in Seattle, WA. You will lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensure stringent quality control, and optimize supply chain logistics for Production/Operations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve production timelines, leveraging advanced technologies to support safe, reliable, and scalable lunar/ascent manufacturing

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing/industrial/process engineering.
  • 1+ years creating English work instructions.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Willingness to work second shift and extended hours.

Responsibilities

  • Support the industrialization of new products in areas such as solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.
  • Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT).
  • Translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space vehicle production.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, process diagrams, tooling designs, inspection plans).
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing).
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to enhance reliability.
