Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer Level 2 to support the United States Space Force and its mission-critical operations. The role involves developing, acquiring, integrating, and sustaining advanced space capabilities within a DoD environment.

The ideal candidate will have a TS clearance with SCI eligibility, 5+ years of DoD systems engineering experience, and a track record with RDT&E, space systems, and DoDAF/JCIDS processes.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 5+ years of DoD experience in systems engineering, acquisition, RDT&E or related programs.
• Experience supporting SPOs/PMOs and delivering systems to SPOs/PMOs.
• Demonstrated RDT&E and test & training materiel systems experience.
• Experience deploying, integrating, operating and sustaining space test/training materiel systems.
• Strong knowledge of SE principles and processes applied to RDT&E, integration and fielding.
• Experience with JCIDS/DoDAF processes and artifacts.
• Experience in space technology domains such as space architectures, EO/IR, RF sensors, GNC, or space data comms.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and concept exploration for system solutions.
• Support DRM engineering and system analysis activities.
• Develop and refine CONOPS to support mission requirements.
• Manage system requirements, ICDs, verification plans and validation activities.
• Perform change management and assess impacts to interfaces and schedules.
• Align PPBE activities with technical efforts across SFPAE-I and SYD 81.
• Support SE activities across RDT&E, integration, fielding, and sustainment.
• Collaborate with government, engineering, acquisition and program stakeholders.
