Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer to analyze mission needs, develop system requirements, and lead design, integration, and implementation of complex IT and mission systems.

The role provides technical leadership across the lifecycle, ensuring security and operational readiness in both classified and unclassified environments, interfacing with government stakeholders and program leadership. TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field such as systems engineering, computer science, information technology, or engineering.
• Minimum 8+ years of DoD/IC systems engineering experience.
• Experience developing system requirements specifications, architecture and design docs, and test plans.
• Strong understanding of SELC processes and system lifecycle activities.
• Experience leading technical teams across multiple domains.
• Familiarity with Linux/UNIX, Windows, AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• DoD 8140 education and certification requirements compliance is expected.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure certs, INCOSE ASEP/CSEP.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, CONOPS, and system architectures to define system requirements specifications.
• Lead system design and development activities across engineering teams.
• Guide stakeholders on requirements, assess alternatives, and conduct feasibility analyses.
• Provide technical leadership for integrating requirements, design, and technology solutions.
• Incorporate new plans and systems into existing operational environments.
• Develop and maintain system architecture and design documentation.
• Prepare SE management and integration/test plans and oversee their execution.
• Interface with government stakeholders on technical considerations, risks, and issues.
• Ensure integrity of deliverables within the systems engineering scope.
• Communicate status and recommendations to program personnel and executives.
• Provide Tier 3 support for Linux, UNIX, Windows, AWS/Azure, and enterprise systems as needed.
• Support DoD cybersecurity, engineering, and operational standards.
