Job summary

Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa in New Bern, NC is seeking a full-time Spa Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team of massage therapists, estheticians and spa associates. You will oversee staffing, scheduling and guest experience across seven days, while driving membership growth and revenue.

The ideal candidate is goal oriented, growth minded with a proven background in sales, spa operations and customer service, and comfortable guiding through change as the business scales.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of management experience in spa/wellness, hospitality, fitness, retail, membership-based services, healthcare services, or another customer-facing business.
• Ability to promote the benefits of massage and skin care services.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and hold teams accountable while creating a positive workplace culture.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Results-driven and comfortable setting goals, reviewing performance data and adjusting plans when needed.
• Strong communication and guest-service skills.
• Flexible availability for a seven-day operation, including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, coach and retain a high-performing team. Establish clear expectations and accountability, recognize strong performance, address performance gaps, resolve conflict effectively, and build a positive, cohesive culture.
• Lead membership and revenue growth while ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Coach the team to educate guests about memberships and services and build long-term guest relationships.
• Lead daily spa operations including staffing, scheduling, service capacity, inventory, opening and closing processes, and adherence to operating standards.
• Set goals, forecast staffing and operating needs, review performance data, and translate results into action. Identify trends and gaps, adjust plans when results are off track, and lead through changes inherent in opening/growing a new business.
• Spa Manager Performance will be based on metrics including Team/Leadership, Membership/Revenue Growth, and Operational Excellence/Guest Experience.
