Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Irvine, CA seeks a Southwest Region Resources Marketing Services Manager to lead proposals, marketing campaigns, and regional growth initiatives across California markets including Irvine, LA, and others.

You will oversee proposal teams, drive win strategies, and coordinate marketing resources to enhance HDR’s competitive position in key regional pursuits. Strong leadership, industry knowledge, and travel willingness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 10 years industry experience.
• Self-starter with limited oversight.
• Deep knowledge of A/E/C procurement of professional services.
• Motivate and inspire others.
• Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign.
• Willingness to travel and engage with others in-person.
• Experience in winning high-value contracts in the A/E/C industry.
• Experience writing compelling content based on technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Retain, develop and supervise proposal managers and marketing coordinators.
• Manage workload demands of proposal managers and marketing coordinators.
• Lead pursuit teams in creating and implementing win strategies and proposal materials.
• Engage marketing resources in pursuit teams.
• Partner with RBG BDLs to identify needs and drive strategies.
• Lead quality reviews of proposal and interview materials.
• Coach interview teams for effective presentations.
• Ensure go/no-go decisions per HDR’s Matrix of Authority.
• Facilitate debriefs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Train and mentor employees on business development and marketing best practices.
• Maintain understanding of market trends and drivers.
• Implement growth initiatives in annual and long-term plans.
• Develop and implement client plans and long-term strategies.
• Lead regional content marketing campaigns.
• Manage regional NFB goals, marketing budgets, and dashboards.
• Participate in professional associations and conferences.
• Develop business relationships with teaming partners.
