Job summary

Fallingwater Café at Fallingwater, operated by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy in Mill Run, PA, seeks a full-time Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef and oversee café staff. You will direct food preparation, help with menu design, and assist with special events to ensure a superior guest experience.

Ideal candidates have solid culinary leadership experience, ServSafe certification, and the ability to work weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of culinary/foodservice management training or commensurate experience.
• At least two years of culinary preparation experience.
• Two years of culinary management in a similar volume operation.
• ServSafe certification through the National Restaurant Association.
• Knowledge of sustainable food practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Chef in all aspects of daily food service operation.
• Develop seasonal menus and meal design.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering.
• Supervise kitchen staff and schedule production.
• Train new hires and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Uphold sustainability standards and compliance with green restaurant guidelines.
• Resolve guest concerns to ensure an exceptional visitor experience.
• Support cost containment and fundraising efforts as directed by the Executive Chef.
