Job summary

COREcruitment partners with a chef-driven full-service restaurant opening in San Francisco and is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the opening team.

This role offers the chance to lead a kitchen from the ground up, work closely with an experienced Chef, and help establish recipes, systems and standards for the new opening.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, maintain quality and safety, and drive a high-volume service with passion for Italian or Mediterranean cooking.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or in a leadership culinary role.
• Full-service restaurant experience, Italian or Mediterranean preferred.
• Chef-driven environment experience.
• Strong understanding of food cost and inventory management.
• Hands-on approach with a passion for quality and consistency.
• New opening experience is a plus, not required.

We’re partnered with an exciting chef-driven full-service restaurant concept opening in San Francisco and are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join the opening team.

This is a great opportunity for a strong culinary leader who wants to be part of building a kitchen from the ground up and working closely with an experienced Chef.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the Chef in leading day-to-day kitchen operations
• Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency and presentation
• Lead service and ensure smooth execution in a high-volume environment
• Train and develop cooks while maintaining strong kitchen standards
• Ensure proper food safety, sanitation and health code compliance
• Help establish systems, recipes and procedures for the new opening

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar culinary leadership role
• Full-service restaurant experience, ideally Italian or Mediterranean
• Comfortable working in a chef-driven, high-quality environment
• Strong understanding of food cost, inventory and kitchen operations
• Hands-on approach with a passion for quality and consistency
• New opening experience is a plus, but not required
