Job summary

NetApp is seeking a Solutions Engineering Manager for the Western State SLED team within Commercial. You will lead a high-performing group of Solutions Engineers supporting government and education accounts west of the Mississippi, driving value-based sales in complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities.

You will hire, coach, and develop the team, align technical resources with district priorities, and partner with Sales Managers to execute strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years supporting SLED in enterprise technology sales or related customer-facing technical roles.
• 5+ years of people management experience including hiring, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Presales experience with leadership of technical strategy and execution in complex sales.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure and data center ecosystem: storage, data management, virtualization, compute, networking, hybrid cloud.
• Experience translating capabilities into customer outcomes and business justification for tech investments.
• Deep understanding of SLED sales cycles and multi-stakeholder pursuits.
• Ability to partner with sales leadership and align resources with territory objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Solutions Engineers with clear expectations and feedback.
• Collaborate with SLED District Sales Managers to align technical strategy and execution.
• Allocate technical resources based on territory needs and deal complexity.
• Coach team to sell on value, linking tech to outcomes like resilience and cost optimization.
• Guide discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and validation.
• Drive account planning and budgeting considerations with customers and procurement timelines.
• Build and maintain account plans with partners for expansion and new business.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational requirements for public sector.
