Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Solution Engineer to drive pre‑sales engagements for enterprise customers. You will partner with Sales & Customer Success to design, architect, and present solutions that address business requirements and deliver measurable value.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex needs into actionable designs while traveling as needed. This position is based in the United States with flexible opportunities.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent.
• Work experience: Minimum 2 years in pre‑sales, engineering, consulting or similar background.
• General experience: Technical pre‑sales and/or consulting experience.
• Technical Knowledge: Enterprise Architecture and Design; knowledge across Lumen pillars.
• Communication: Lead technical workshops and solution discussions with stakeholders.
• Travel: Some travel required.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer meetings and deliver technical proposals and presentations with appropriate business acumen.
• Analyze customer needs, conduct technical discovery, and architect client solutions.
• Advise on technical aspects of solutions to sales and customer success teams.
• Provide internal feedback to product management and sales on customer experiences.
• Act as customer advocate in pre‑sales efforts: demos, RFPs, workshops, ROI analysis.
• Collaborate with sales, customer success, product and engineering to deliver solutions.
