Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking a Solution Engineer to drive pre‑sales activities, analyze customer needs, design architectures, and present scalable solutions. You will work with Sales & Customer Success to lead technical conversations and craft proposals that deliver business value across enterprise customers.

Responsibilities include conducting full technical discovery, architecting client solutions, and providing guidance to internal teams on technology fit, security, and architecture.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience in the private sector or military
• Work experience: Minimum 2 years of experience with technology focused in pre‑sales, engineering, consulting or similar background.
• General Experience: Technical pre‑sales and/or consulting experience.
• Technical Knowledge: Enterprise Architecture and Design with knowledge of one or more Lumen technology pillars

Responsibilities

• Customer Meetings: Leads and attends customer meetings in person and via collaboration tools, delivering technical proposals and presentations with appropriate business acumen.
• Customer Solution Development: Analyze business and technology objectives, conduct full technical discovery, architect client solutions to meet requirements.
• Internal and External Training: Advises customers, sales and customer success on technical aspects of proposed solutions.
• Thought Leadership: Provide internal feedback to product management, sales and customer success on features and service implementation.
• Customer Advocate: Participate in pre‑sales efforts including technical presentations, architecture discussions, RFP/RFI responses, and workshops.
• Lifecycle / Ecosystem Partnership: Support local sales teams and collaborate with Success/Product teams to deliver solutions.
