Job summary

A Morris County, NJ-based private manufacturer of water and wastewater process equipment is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer. The role focuses on taking concepts through build, with heavy SolidWorks work and close collaboration with fabricators on the shop floor.

You will design and draw new equipment, especially conveyors, ensuring designs can be produced efficiently and accurately the first time. On-site, with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 3 or 4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to translate needs into buildable designs.
• Accurate, detail-oriented drawing work and ability to discuss designs with fabricators.
• Local to northern New Jersey and onsite in Morris County (relocation not offered).

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Determine how to build customer needs, including equipment not yet built.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit the fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions with fabricators.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with required detail.
• Support the project engineer with design work for each order.
• Get details right before release so equipment is built correctly the first time.
