Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Laborer Apprentice 1 (Solar) to assist in assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on uneven terrain, roofs or other structures.

You will follow site assessments and schematics, measure, cut, assemble and bolt structural framing and PV module supports. Key duties include using hand and power tools to install PV systems, laying out support structures, and ensuring safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 0-6 months of experience or 0–1000 hours working as a laborer or in any construction craft as a helper.
• Must have all necessary tools (see Solar Tool List).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools and power tools to install PV systems following drawings and instructions.
• Lay out and install solar modules/panels support structures.
• Install structural, mechanical, rack systems and PV panels.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and participate in safety programs.
• Observe hazards and stop work if safety concerns arise.
