Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies seeks a Laborer Apprentice 1 (Solar) to support the installation and maintenance of PV systems on varied terrains and structures. You will use hand and power tools to assemble structures and PV modules, guided by plans and safety standards.

Responsibilities include laying out and fastening racks, lifting materials, and contributing to a clean, safe worksite while learning from journeymen. On-site training and safety emphasis are integral to this role.

Qualifications

• 0-6 months of experience or 0–1000 hours working as a laborer or in any construction craft as a helper.
• Develop knowledge of the assembly, installation, or maintenance of solar PV systems.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Complete pre-employment onboarding requirements if selected.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to install PV systems according to drawings and instructions.
• Lay-out, assemble and install solar modules/panels support structures.
• Install structural, mechanical, rack system and PV panels.
• Lift and carry materials; keep work areas clean.
• Participate in safety programs and reporting.
