Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc, a Black & Veatch company, seeks a Laborer Apprentice 3 (Solar) to join our solar construction team in Mulberry, FL. You will learn assembly, installation and maintenance of PV systems under supervision while following safety rules and site plans.

Qualifications

1–1.5 years’ experience in laborer or helper roles in construction.
Must have NCCER Construction Craft Laborer and NCCER Core Curriculum certifications.
NCCER Solar Photovoltaic Systems Installer or equivalent Craft Training Program

Responsibilities

Use hand and power tools to install PV systems according to codes and standards using drawings and schematics.
Lay out, assemble and install solar module support structures as specified.
Install structural, mechanical, rack systems and PV panels.
Lift and carry building materials and keep tools and work areas clean.
Participate in safety processes, report hazards, and use stop work authority when needed.
Follow pre-job safety planning and lockout/tagout procedures and site-specific training.
Read plans and schematics; learn to layout work and understand dimensions.
Coordinate work with other crafts and teams on site.
Mentor coworkers during on-the-job training when provided.
