Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Laborer Apprentice 2 (Solar) to assist in assembling, installing and maintaining solar photovoltaic systems on varied terrain and structures, following site assessments and schematics.

You will read plans, lay out support structures, handle PV modules, and participate in safety programs while developing NCCER-based craft skills via on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• 6 months – 1 years’ experience or 1001 - 2000 hours working as a laborer or in any construction craft as a helper.
• Must have all necessary tools (see Solar Tool List).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools and power tools to install PV systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions.
• Lay-out, assemble and install solar modules/panels support structures, as specified.
• Install structural, mechanical, rack system and PV panels.
• Follow safety rules and participate in safety programs to achieve zero injuries.
• Read and understand plans and specifications; visualize drawings in three dimensions.
• Coordinate work with other crafts and co-workers on the job.
