Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Laborer Apprentice 1 (Solar) to assist in assembling, installing, and maintaining solar PV systems on varied terrains and structures. You will read schematics, lay out supports, and handle materials while following strict safety and site procedures.

Responsibilities include using tools, installing PV modules, coordinating with teams, and supporting pre-job safety discussions. Minimum 0–6 months experience; pre-employment screenings may apply.

Qualifications

• 0-6 months of experience or 0 – 1000 hours working as a laborer or in any construction craft as a helper.
• Develop a knowledge of the assembly, installation, or maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Must have all necessary tools (see Solar Tool List).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected).

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools and power tools to install PV systems according to drawings and instructions.
• Lay-out, assemble and install solar modules/panels support structures.
• Install structural, mechanical, rack systems and PV panels.
• Lift and move materials; keep work areas clean and safe.
• Participate in safety processes and programs; report hazards.
