Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. seeks a Laborer Apprentice 3 (Solar) to assemble, install, and maintain solar PV systems on varied terrains. You will read plans, set up support structures, install racks and panels, and cooperate with crew to meet safety and quality standards.

You will participate in pre-job planning, use hand and power tools, and help ensure a clean, organized worksite while advancing skills in solar construction and NCCER-aligned training. This is a full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

• 1 – 1.5 years’ experience or 2001 - 3000 hours working as a laborer or in any construction craft as a helper.
• Develop a knowledge of the assembly, installation, or maintenance of solar PV systems.
• Must have all necessary tools (see Solar Tool List).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools and power tools to install PV systems following drawings and instructions.
• Lay out, assemble and install solar modules support structures and racks.
• Install structural, mechanical, rack system and PV panels.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and participate in safety programs.
• Read and understand plans and specifications; assist journeymen with layout.
• Coordinate work with other crafts and team members.
