Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Laborer Apprentice 3 (Solar) to install and maintain solar PV systems on uneven terrain, roofs or structures. You will lay out and assemble solar modules and support structures and work with a team to ensure safety and quality.

Training includes NCCER certifications and on-the-job mentoring in a safety-conscious environment. Qualified candidates have 1–1.5 years of laborer experience, are 18+, and will complete onboarding requirements if selected.

Qualifications

• 1–1.5 years’ experience as a laborer or helper in construction (2001–3000 hours)
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search

Responsibilities

• Install PV systems using drawings, schematics, and instructions
• Lay out, assemble and install solar modules and support structures
• Install racks, PV panels, and related structural components
• Lift/move materials and maintain a clean, safe work area
• Follow safety rules and participate in safety programs
• Coordinate with other crafts and team members on the job
• Learn to read plans and perform layout with supervision and mentoring
