Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Project Engineer II for heavy civil construction projects, including solar, with on-site duties across multiple Texas locations. You will lead project-engineering activities, manage costs, coordinate field operations, and mentor junior staff.

This role requires travel and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. The position emphasizes safety, timely delivery, and adherence to budget and schedule while collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to resolve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Two or more years of construction estimating, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing assigned project-engineering responsibilities, including project controls, quantities, field coordination, documentation, or technical support.

Responsibilities

• Project Execution: Independently manage assigned project-engineering activities from planning through completion.
• Cost & Project Controls: Manage quantities, production tracking, labor, equipment costs, forecasts, and project performance information.
• Project Coordination: Coordinate material planning, procurements, deliveries, subcontractors, and suppliers; maintain accurate records.
• Develop People & Improve the Work: Provide guidance to junior staff and share knowledge to improve processes.
• Travel & Work Location: On-site presence required; travel may be needed and assignments vary by project.
