Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Field Engineer I for solar projects. The role focuses on providing technical engineering and cost information for large-scale solar builds, up to 500MW, ensuring field work adheres to engineering standards from pre-drill to installation.

The position requires a related Bachelor's degree and 0–2 years of experience in estimating, engineering, or field support. Proficiency in MS Office and HCSS HeavyJob is essential, with strong analytic and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Scheduling experience and use of HCSS HeavyJob.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment, drawings and specs.
• Ability to perform trig calculations manually or with a calculator.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Review and prepare daily cost reporting for project team and management.
• Interpret designs/drawings for craft workers and ensure plans are followed.
• Maintain current plans and installation manuals for field staff.
• Prepare documentation: status reports, punch lists, material calc, to supervisor.
