Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a civil engineering professional to provide technical engineering and cost information for solar projects up to 500MW. The role ensures construction work adheres to engineering standards during pre-drill, post-installation, tracker installation, and module installation on large-scale solar sites.

Responsibilities include cost reporting, drawing interpretation, schedule forecasting, and coordinating with on-site departments to maintain project quality and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• 2+ years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products and scheduling tools; familiarity with design drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting, and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing materials to ensure specifications are followed.
• Create 3-week look ahead schedules with input from the project team.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
• Provide technical support for project material controls to minimize additional costs.
