Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an Estimator II to independently develop substantial estimate scopes for heavy civil and energy-sector projects. The role is currently remote with plans to move to an Austin, TX office; occasional travel for site visits and bid activities is expected.

You will develop quantities, costs, and subcontractor pricing, build traceable estimate structures, and contribute to bid strategy while coordinating with operations and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field.
• 2+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience interpreting plans, specs, and bid documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate substantial estimate scopes from review to bid completion.
• Analyze quantities, labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare traceable estimate structures and risk considerations.
• Support bid reviews and communicate assumptions and risks.
• Coordinate with operations to validate production and schedule.
• Provide guidance to junior estimators.
