Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a seasoned civil project leader for Texas Civil Group, focused on mass grading and large-scale site development, including utility-scale solar and substations. You will direct Superintendent I personnel, foremen, and crews, coordinate subcontractors, manage safety, quality, and production, and ensure execution aligns with plans and budgets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
• 8+ years in construction management and/or craft supervision in heavy civil construction, earthwork or site development.
• Experience leading multiple crews and coordinating staffing, equipment, quality, production, and schedule priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety program across assigned operations; verify pre-task planning and coach field leaders.
• Coordinate environmental requirements including SWPPP, erosion controls, dust suppression, and spill prevention.
• Lead clearing, earthwork, mass and finish grading, roads, drainage, and related site work per plans and budgets.
• Develop look-ahead plans, sequence work areas, plan haul routes, and coordinate handoffs between operations.
• Direct and develop Superintendent I personnel and foremen; forecast staffing and address performance needs.
• Balance crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractor support; coordinate mobilization and demobilization.
• Ensure accurate quantity and resource reporting; review costs and rework with project management.
• Coordinate survey and grade-control; verify use of current plans and machine-control files.
• Coordinate inspection and testing plans; manage turnover with complete records.
• Represent field operations in coordination meetings and resolve conflicts with subcontractors and clients.
• Identify scope changes and schedule risks; prepare daily reports and change orders.
• Lead punch-list completion, site restoration, and field closeout; capture lessons learned.
