Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to safely operate on customer sites, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair solar PV facilities across various sites, with travel across the United States likely. The role emphasizes safety, on-call duties, and ongoing training within the ACTivate Technician Track.

Based in the field, this position requires working at customer sites rather than a traditional office, with extended hours, 20% travel, and weekend

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of relevant field experience in solar, electrical, or a related technical/mechanical trade; or completion of ACT's Apprentice program.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) sign-off, or ability to obtain within onboarding period.
• FAA Part 107 certification, a Technical Writing course, and HV/MV training completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything that you do.
• Assist in and support routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities including inverter maintenance and repairs.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting and repairs, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support.
• Conduct routine vegetation and site equipment inspections, including monthly inspections.
• Apply fundamental knowledge of NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices, with continuing education as assigned.
